The British Geological Survey has over 400 datasets, including on topics such as environmental monitoring and physical collections on borehole core, rocks, minerals and fossils. We are most likely to use their data for soil properties and subsidence ratings. However this data costs so we would need to dicuss pricings.

Companies House API overview

This API provides access to all of the public data that is held on companies free of charge. This includes information about companies, officers, people of significant control and more. To be able to explore and perform tests with the Companies House API, you need to register a user account with Companies House, and then generate an API key for use in each API request.

Crimeometer crime data API. Claims to have global crime data.

Pricing is for Commercial subscription to which you can get a 14 day free trial. Pricing Information Link.

As it claims to give global data could be very useful for the platform, even if the data does not end up being global, all the examples given on the website are for areas in North America so should at least be able to get that region.

Gives information on some types of nat cat events that have occured in Europe. The types of natcat that it provides data for are:

  • Lesser Whirlwind
  • Heavy Snowfall/Snowstorm

NeighborhoodScout Crime Risk Reports provide an instant, objective assessment of property and violent crime for every US address. They do also have API access.

About the data will give more of a description of the company and the service that is provided. To see the data provided look at the Sample Report.

They state they have national coverage of every US address with up to 90% accuracy. They provide nationally comparable crime ratings for Total Crime, Violent Crime, Property Crime, Murder, Rape, Robbery, Assault, Burglary, Theft and Motor Vehicle Theft. They also provide the crime density per square mile for a neighborhood.

NeighborhoodScout’s exclusive data licensing packages start at $5K/year but you need to contact them for more details. Contact information and sample data can be downloaded from here.
